Legacy Gymnastics’ recreational classes offer healthy, positive experiences for students of all ages and abilities. Instructors will warm-up students with exercises that increase flexibility and strengthen the cardiovascular, muscular, and mental aspects of growing bodies. Classes visit all four Olympic events Vault-Bars Beam-Floor, along with trampoline. We encourage a love of physical fitness through gymnastics.
Our Beginner Classes introduce students to all four events. Skill development is in the early stages for exercises like handstands and cartwheels, forward rolls, and body positions. Students will learn to hang and support themselves on the bar and cast their hips off, increase balance with controlled walking and standing balances on the beam, and develop mobility skills on vault.
Legacy’s Beginner program consists of 2 skill cards in one class. Students build upon the skills, shapes learned and strength gained on each skill card.
Prerequisite: No prior gymnastics experience, must be enrolled in Kindergarten or up
Legacy’s Advanced Beginner program consists of 2 skill cards in one class. At this level, gymnasts are introduced to more advanced bridging and visit the higher beams and bars.
Prerequisite: Mastery of skills on Beginner 2 skill card or recommendation by instructor.
Building upon the foundation skills in our Beginner program, the Intermediate levels introduce front & back walkovers on floor and more advanced circling skills on the bars.
Legacy’s Intermediate program consists of 2 skill cards in one class. Students advance their tumbling on floor and beam, learn handstand flat backs on vault, and improve their strength on bars.
Prerequisite: Mastery of skills on Advanced Beginner 2 skill card or recommendation by instructor.
This class is designed to bridge Rec gymnasts into a competitive program. Athletes at this level will have a good collection of a variety of skills and will learn to connect them together with increasing agility and strength on all events. Conditioning is included to help prevent injury and learn more advanced skills.
Prerequisite: Coach’s recommendation only.
Boys gymnastics is a fantastic stand-alone athletic program for boys of all ages, but it is also an excellent supplemental program for active boys involved in other sports like hockey, basketball, football, baseball, soccer, and so on. Legacy boys gymnastics delivers strength, balance, stamina, focus, discipline, flexibility, and fun! These classes visit all six Olympic events (high bar, rings, parallel bars, floor, vault, and pommel horse), as well as the trampolines and foam pits.
