Coach Kari Vaughn – Owner & USAG Team Coach
Kari began coaching in 1998 in Colorado for the University of Denver. She became the Program Director for DU’s Youth Program and Assistant Meet Director for the College Team. She ended up moving back to Minnesota where she coached at a local gym as a Co-Head Coach and Program Director for 8 years.
Kari has coached 9 State Championship teams in the past 12 years. She is a National Level judge and judges NCAA & USAG. Kari loves coaching all levels from Beginner to Level 10+. She is married to Will Vaughn Co-Owner of Legacy and has two kids, Hayden & Kaiya.

Coach Will Vaughn – Owner, USAG Team Head Coach & High School Coach
Will started coaching in 1998 and began to study the sport. He has a talented eye for technique and is an incredible spotter. He has won awards for his spotting techniques. Will began coaching club gymnastics in 1999. He was Head Coach for a local gym for 8 years and has coached over 8 State Championship teams in the past 10 years. Will has developed a website for Coaches called GymDrills.com. Will dreamed of being a gym owner and in August of 2010 he opened the doors to Legacy Gymnastics. Will is married to Co-Owner Kari Vaughn and has two beautiful kids.

Coach Heidi Mastro – USAG Team Director & Coach
Heidi, a self-described gymnastics junkie, has been coaching full time since 2000 as the Team Director and Head Coach at St. Peter Gymnastics, Team Coordinator at Mini-Hops Gymnastics, Team Administrator at Classic Gymnastics, and Team Director at Legacy Gymnastics. She coaches beam for Training Team through Level 10′s, and sometimes gets lucky enough to coach a little floor too!  Heidi likes to mix being goofy with the girls and working hard. Outside of Legacy, she likes to workout, travel, go out to eat, watch reality TV with her husband Coach Nick, and play with their dogs Charlie and Lucy.  Heidi thinks that bacon, the color purple, and all things sparkly are the best things in the whole world (besides gymnastics!).

Coach Kelly Cabalka – Assistant USAG Team Director & Coach
Kelly started her career as a competitive club gymnast. She was state champion multiple times. She received a full scholarship to Northern Illinois University for gymnastics and still holds the all-time vault record there. Kelly has been coaching for 10 years. She has coached numerous state, regional, and western champions as well as national competitors. She loves coaching all 4 events but devotes much of her time to beam and floor. Kelly loves to get to know the girls and joke with them but also believes in quality hard work. Outside of the gym, she loves to workout, be outside, go out to eat with her husband, Blake, and try new things! Kelly is happiest when she’s being active and you can often find her sneaking in some time jumping on the trampoline! Some of her favorite things are all colors, especially purple and aqua, all things sparkly, and cute animals!

Coach Nick Mastro – USAG & Fast Track Coach
Nick has been coaching gymnastics for 10 years; 9 years have been with competitive USAG team. He currently coaches Fast Track, Level 4 Bars & Vault, Level 5 Vault, Level 7 and 8 Vault. His coaching accomplishments include 4 State Championship Compulsory Teams and numerous individual State Vault and Bar Champions  Nick has a passion for coaching and working with children! He says the best thing about gymnastics is it is like 6 sports all rolled into one. He has a B.S. in Social Studies teaching from Minnesota State University-Mankato (2004). Nick grew up a hockey player and continues to play in an adult hockey league. He is married to Coach Heidi.

Coach Jimmy Darlington – USAG & Fast Track Coach
Jimmy grew up around the sport of gymnastics, without ever actually being a gymnast himself.  He has two sisters who did high school gymnastics at St. Cloud Tech High School, so he spent a lot of time in the gym as a kid.  In 2012 he began to coach at Granite City Gymnastics in Waite Park, starting with pre-school and recreational classes.  In 2013 Jimmy started coaching Xcel and Compulsory groups.  Over the past few years he has been working primarily with level 4-9 gymnasts at Granite City.  He is extremely passionate about working with kids of all ages and learning more about gymnastics.  Jimmy is currently pursuing an Associate’s degree at St. Cloud Technical College.  Some of his hobbies include golf, working on his Jeep, and spending time with his girlfriend, Halie.

Coach Dez Stanton – Boys Team Manager & Coach
Dez began coaching in high school and has been coaching for Legacy Gymnastics since we opened. She was a Legacy level 10 gymnast and qualified at the national level. She went on to be a collegiate gymnast at the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire. She now manages and coaches our boys program, and also coaches some excel teams and rec classes as well.

Coach Mandi Gagne – Xcel Team Director & Coach
Mandi was a competitive gymnast for 10 years, and began her coaching career in 2000. She has been a key player in building up gymnastic programs though out the state. In her first year as the Xcel Director at Legacy, we earned four all-around and 12 event State Championship titles!  In addition to coaching, Mandi is a voting member of the USAG Minnesota State Board.  Yearly attending state, regional, and national USAG educational conferences, she’s learned a great deal from the leading industry professionals and attended 2010 National Tops Camp with one of her athletes. Mandi appreciates the value of effort, ethics, and integrity.  She enjoys cooperating with others to create the positive and supportive environment necessary to achieve personal and common goals, develop self-confidence, and learn necessary life-skills that contribute to success throughout and beyond athletics.  Coaching gymnastics to kids is an honor for her as she feels it’s an opportunity to inspire a lifelong love of movement and fitness as well as personal accountability and responsibility to one’s community. Mandi loves to travel and spend time outdoors with activities like hiking, biking, swimming, skiing, and more.  She also regularly practices yoga, barre, and pilates and brings many of those elements into the gym to enhance the Xcel training program.

Coach Amanda Kocovsky – Birthday Party Coordinator, Xcel Team & Class Coach
Amanda spent 10 years as a gymnast competing up to Level 9, 4 years doing high school diving, and 2 years as a diver for The University of Iowa. She has coached since she was 16 years old. She got to coach while down in Iowa at the home gym and got to give back to the sport that gave her so much as an athlete. She graduated from the University with a B.A in Education and a B.A. in History. She has been at Legacy since the summer of 2015 and is the floor coach for XCEL. Her first season with Legacy the Xcel GOLD Team won State. When she started coaching again it was because she wanted to help the kiddos find their passion in the sport just like Amanda’s coaches had done for her. “My favorite aspect of the sport and XCEL is that they train only twice a week but show as much passion and love for the sport as I do. Seeing them grow through all the bumps in the road, all the highs and lows, it is just an awesome feeling seeing them succeed and that grin and excitement when an area of frustration has conquered”. When she isn’t at the gym, Amanda loves to read, watch sports, and spend time with friends, her family, and their dog Finn. She loves the color purple, puppy cuddles, and anything deep fried or sweet!

Coach Stacy Adrianson – Xcel Team Coach
Stacy began her gymnastics career as a club gymnast competing thru level 10. Her love for gymnastics continued through her college years where she coached rec and pre-team classes for the club team at Michigan State University Gymnastics.  Stacy began working at Legacy in the summer of 2012. “It’s so much fun to see the girls grow and improve their gymnastics. I like to give a lot of high fives and encourage the girls to take pride in hard work in the gym and outside activities”

Coach Jill Krasuski  -Xcel Team Coach
Jill spent 10 years as a gymnast at a USAG club, 3 years as a varsity cheerleader at Hamline University, and 1 year as a diver at Hamline University. She has over 6 years of coaching experience. Her favorite thing about gymnastics is the privilege of watching the kids grow as both athletes and people through the lessons they learn in gymnastics training and competition-team work, a strong work ethic, a positive self-image, the importance of setting and working toward achieving goals, personal responsibility, and good sportsmanship. “The gymnasts I work with are the highlight of my week, every week! My goal as a coach is for the gymnasts’ time with me to be just as much of a high point in their week as they are in mine.” Jill works in student services for a higher education nonprofit in North Minneapolis. When she is not at her day job or coaching, she enjoys volunteering with Give Us Wings and the Junior League of Minneapolis, traveling, spending as much time at the pool or beach in the summer as possible, reading, and watching Netflix with her cats, Sofie and Addie.

Coach Anna Drenth -Xcel Team Coach & Class Coach
Anna is currently attending college with a teaching focus. She was a gymnast for 10 years and has been coaching for 6 years. Her favorite thing about gymnastics is the challenge it brings. “Doing things your body is not naturally able to do and helping kids reach their personal goals.” In her free time she loves spending time with her rescue dog named Fiona.

Coach Julie Abler – USAG/Fast Track Coach & Class Coach
Gymnastics is a passion of mine and it has been for over 30 years. I have coached for 16 years all ages and abilities; 18 months through level 10 competitive gymnasts. Six years of my coaching experience have been with Legacy.  I also enjoy providing adaptations, support and instruction for children with special needs. I was a competitive gymnast for 12 years and had the privilege of competing for the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.  I finished my college career earning 4 conference titles and two National team titles. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science and a Masters Degree in Special Education.  I am licensed in the area of Learning Disabilities and Autism and I teach at the elementary level in the Eden Prairie school district.  My husband and I have three daughters whom have all experienced great success in gymnastics at Legacy at the Junior Olympic Optional level.  Although I started coaching because I loved gymnastics I have continued to coach because I love the kiddos!  My philosophy that each child has unique gifts and it is my job to nurture their passion and build upon their strengths. The sport of gymnastics teaches dedication, commitment, perseverance, and that hard work can be fun!

Coach Lizzy Nelson – Fast Track  Coach

Lizzy has a cheerleading background and got involved with gymnastics when she started working at Legacy 3 years ago. Her favorite thing about gymnastics is helping kids be the best they can be and watching the excitement as they master new skills. In addition to coaching she also nanny’s and loves both her jobs. Lizzy is a Starbucks addict, and loves all things pink and sparkly.

Coach Amy Gilgenbach – Recreational Director & Coach

Amy is a retired USAG gymnast and national NPC fitness competitor. She started coaching in high school and was the USAG compulsory head coach at a local YMCA while going to college. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a major in sport management and coaching emphasis she moved to Minnesota and worked as a personal trainer for over 10 years. Amy always wanted to remain involved in the sport of gymnastics and got the opportunity to start working at Legacy in the spring of 2015. In her free time she loves to walk her cat Tiga, read by the pool in the summer, and downhill ski in winter.

Coach Grace Christenson – Preschool Manager & Coach

Debbie Miller- Front Office Manager/Front Desk Staff

Debbie comes to Legacy with proven ability to wear multiple hats. She is an accomplished and energetic professional with lead office administration experience.  She is married with 2 grown children: son Chris who lives in Brooklyn Park and Elizabeth who lives in Chicago.  Elizabeth is a former competitive gymnast Coached by Kari Vaughn.  Debbie enjoys a healthy lifestyle as a runner and  has completed twenty four marathons!  Her life motto:   If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.

Rachelle Eisenberg –  Front Desk Staff
Rachelle has over 10 years of teaching experience with children ages pre-school through 6th grade.  She has a BA in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. Rachelle has a daughter on team, who went through the Legacy Fast Track program and a son that plays club baseball.

Coach Jessie Harried – Front Desk Staff/Sub Class Coach
Jessie has over 6 years of coaching experience and has been with Legacy as a recreational coach for the past 4 years. Jessie has five children; one of her daughters is on team at Legacy. In her free time, she enjoys running, working out, reading, and spending time with her kids and husband.

Gail Krahulec – Front Desk/Team Autopay
Gail has been with Legacy  since 2011.  She has 3 grown children, one of which was a team gymnast. Gail enjoys daily customer interaction and is committed to providing excellent customer service. She strives to promote the value and benefits of gymnastics for every child.
